Starting point

Hampshire
SO32 2TL

A challenging but rewarding ride on mostly quiet country lanes from Swanmore taking in Hampton Hill, Beacon Hill, Kilmeston, Cheriton, Gundleton and Bighton before heading left towards Alresford, skirting round the back of the town and rejoining the B3047 for a short distance before turning off to Tichborne. We stop at the Tichborne Arms for refreshments and WC. We return via Cheriton, past The Flower Pots Inn, climbing through Beauworth, turning right at The Milbury’s pub, to take in Longwood Dean Lane and the Tunnel of Trees. After climbing through Woodcote we join Salt Lane, heading down Beeches Hill towards Bishops Waltham, then along Hoe Road back to Swanmore. Approx. 33 miles and around 1900 ft elevation, this is a challenging ride best suited to road cyclists who have some experience.
