Finchale Evening Jaunt
Thurs 8th April 6.00pm 11 miles
Start at Clayport Library, Millennium Place DH1 1WA
This is the perfect ride if you’re a recent convert to cycling or out of practice, being a short local ride and a visit to one of Durham’s hidden away gems.
We’ll start from outside the library and head down to Framwellgate riverside, past Crook Hall and up Frankland Lane to Brasside, around the back of the prison and on to Finchale. Our route back will be similar and is good quality off road and quiet roads.
Because this is Durham, it is not flat as we must climb up away from the River Wear before descending back down to it at Finchale. However, hills mean views and a big sense of satisfaction.
In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Please make sure your bike is in working condition and bring a spare tube to fit your tyres. Expect to be out for about 2 hours.
As always we can’t predict the weather so please dress suitably. You are better to be overdressed as you can always take layers off.

• We will ride taking social distancing into account.
• Participants must not attend a ride if they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms
• Anyone who develops COVID symptoms after a ride must contact the leader who will inform British Cycling HQ who will then contact everyone who attended the ride.

Look forward to seeing you.
