Fat Tyre Revolution - Yr Afon Explorer

This is a mountain bike ride, run by L1 mountain bike leaders who are also Breeze Champions. This ride is part of the Beics Brenin Fat Tyre Revolution Weekend. This ride is suited to beginners who would like a gentle introduction to mountain biking. This forest road trail takes in some of the most picturesque parts of the river Mawddach including the beautiful waterfalls on the river Gain and Mawddach. It’s a relatively low level route on forest roads and smooth tarmac, but does includes a rougher section of private track. There are a couple of short steepish climbs and a steep forest road descent but we can get off and push if necessary. The trail surface may be loose, uneven or muddy at times, this ride is only suited to mountain bikes or hybrids fitted with mountain bike tyres. Please bring suitable warm clothing and waterproofs as the weather can be changeable in the forest. The ride will take approx. 75 mins and we should be back in time for anyone wishing to watch the movie or to enjoy a beer! Helmets are compulsory for this ride, together with suitable cycling gloves and ideally glasses. Please bring a spare tube and any necessary tools you may need - ie pump, plus a drink. These are the usual prices for afternoon hire only, so it is a good saving on the usual day rate. Booking in advance advisable. Car parking charges also apply at £1 per hour, £3 half day or £5 full day.
