Starting point

Cheshire
WA4 6EG

After leaving the meeting point we head alongside The Manchester Ship Canal through Stockton Heath and head for Grappenhall Village. We then take a steady climb of Broad Lane to Barley Castle and Appleton Thorn. The lanes become less-trafficked as we head towards Arley and turn onto even-quieter farm lanes that skirt Antrobus and Great Budworh. A pleasant downhill section then takes us to Pickmere Lakes and our Cafe destination.
The return is made through Antrobus Village and Lower Whitley, then a long descent from Hatton village to Walton, and our original departure point, to complete the loop.
