Fareham to Portchester Circular

This cycle ride is a leisurely ride and is a shorter ride that may interest novice riders, or those returning to cycling, and is offered in support of the Breeze ‘Let’s Ride Through Winter’ initiative.

The route will start and finish at Fareham Leisure Centre (PO16 7JU) and will proceed through William Price Gardens, Harrison Road and Southampton Road, to join the off road cycle path leading towards Wallington Village. The route will continue on a mix of quiet, residential roads until we reach Wicor Marina. The return route follows a similar route.

The preferred location for the refreshment stop is The Salt Cafe, at Wicor Marina, and on a clear day, this location offers excellent views of Portsmouth Harbour and the upper reaches of Fareham Creek.

Please bring a cycle lock to secure your cycle at the cafe and some money for refreshments. Please also ensure that clothing suitable for cycling in winter, is worn, noting that weather can change quickly at this time of year. Please arrive at Fareham Leisure Centre for 09:45 for pre-ride checks, since the ride itself will start promptly at 10:00.
