This ride will start at Kings Heath Park - the entrance at the corner of Vicarage Rd and Avenue Rd. We will start by following Route 5 into town where we'll join the canal that'll take us to Port Loop. and an unusual refreshment stop at a community cafe on the canal. We'll then take a turn around Edgbaston reservoir before heading for the delightful hidden gem that is Harborne Walk/cycleway. We'll then use some of Harborne's quieter backstreets to reach the Bourn Brook trail to the University. We'll return by joining the Blue route along the Bristol road turning off into Cannon Hill Park.
This is an interesting and varied route with extensive off road sections on good paths Calling all women who are looking to improve their confidence on two wheels and build up their stamina as well as exploring some of the Birmingham's best cycle routes. The ride is led by women trained to support and encourage women cyclists.
Please wear bright clothing with gloves, a helmet and make sure tyres are pumped up and brakes are working .
