Evening ride around Cwmcarn Scenic Drive and the Philanthropic Inn

Starting from - We will meet at 14 locks canal centre just before 6 to set off at 6pm.

The 14 locks car park will be shut but you can park considerately on local roads. Please don't park near the junction on Brunel Ave, there is plenty of room further in and on Taliesin Drive.
We will follow the canal up to Cwmcarn forest drive, then follow the drive around up to the top!
This is a beautiful if challenging, hilly route but the views are worth it!

The route is on the canal path and on closed roads on the forest drive itself. There is a short on road section open to cars as we ride up to the visitor centre from the entrance.
We will stop briefly at the top for photos and a quick snack.
We will then call in at the lovely Philanthropic Inn before riding back along the canal.
Please wear a helmet, bring water and a snack, a spare inner tube for your bike and the means to change it in case of a puncture. Please also bring lights, we should be back before it gets dark but just in case of delays.
