A ride through sleepy ancient villages, quiet roads with plenty of stops at cafes and pubs.
Saturday 10th June: Essex Cycle ride; Hatfield Peverel to Chelmsford via Pleshey 33 miles
Next weekend amazingly the Greater Anglia trains are running! So we are off cycling in Essex through sleepy ancient villages, quiet roads with plenty of stops at cafes and pubs.
We cycle out of Hatfield Peverel and our first stop is the Owls Tea Room in the beautiful village of Terling for morning coffee,

Then back on our bikes to through Great Leighs, Howe St to the moated village of Pleshey with its (remains off) castle, earthworks and moat.
We will check out the Leather Bottle in Pleshey as a possible stop for lunch (no website) but if not suitable we will cycle another couple of miles to Snug cafe just before High Easter.
