Eling - Beaulieu Loop

This 22-mile loop will start from Green Park, Millbrook and Using Cycle paths and quiet roads we cycle through Milbrook housing estate crossing the River Test and onto the famous Eling Tide Mill, Crossing the toll bridge (FREE FOR CYCLISTS) you’ll make your way up Eling Hill passing St Mary the Virgin Church, to the off-road cycle path at Marchwood. You’ll pass Southampton’s Training Camp at Staplewood before crossing Marchwood bypass onto Forest roads. Passing the Bold Forester, we continue to Beaulieu where we plan to stop for coffee and cake. After coffee we have the one short climb of the ride along Palace Lane and Beaulieu river to Hilltop. We then cross the heath to Dibden Purlieu where we join Roman Road and the cycle paths to Applemore, Pooksgreen and Eling, back to our starting point.
This is an easy paced ride for any age, whether you are new to cycling or a budding tour champion all categories are very welcome. A lovely route along local quiet New Forest roads. Mostly flat with the odd smallish hill. Although we plan to stop, please feel free to bring a drink and a snack. This ride will be repeated regularly and we will slowly build up to further rides exploring some of the local back roads away from heavy traffic. PLEASE NOTE Children 15 years and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult and this adult is fully responsible for their children for the duration of the ride. One child per adult
