Easy Riders River Tyne Looped Route

Hi everyone,

Please join us for a longer than usual 3 hour steady paced cycle ride around the river Tyne from Jarrow to Newcastle, North Shields to South Shields and back to Jarrow. This ride is approximately 20 miles long.

We'll start the ride outside Jarrow Town Hall from 11:00am, so try to arrive ten minutes earlier at 10:50am. The ride should last approximately three hours, but may vary a little.

To take part in the ride you will need a reasonable level of fitness, and be able to cycle around 25 miles at a steady pace.

Items to bring with you:
• Money for your ferry ticket across the Tyne from North Shields to South Shields.
• Your own bicycle with front and rear lights and reflectors.
• Helmet (optional).
• Bicycle repair kit/spare inner tube etc.
• Suitable clothing.
• Water bottle.
• Maybe a small packed lunch.

Anyone joining us for the ride will be responsible for their own equipment and safety. Although I am a qualified cycle leader and first aider, I can't take responsibility for the actions of other cyclists. That said, I hope to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience for all involved.
