Have you got the cycling bug?? Don't want to stop just because it's getting colder!! Come and join us! Join us for a sociable ride along the Trans Pennine Trail from Hadfield. The route follows the old railway line which is now a haven for wildlife and wild flowers. The route is mostly flat and well-surfaced (although not tarmac, so best for hybrid, tourers and mountain bikes) and family friendly (there are no stiles or step through barriers). The views over the reservoirs are just lovely. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so we have time for bike checks and introductions. We will set off at 10:00am. Parking is available at the start and easy access via rail from Manchester, with Hadfield station just around the corner (bikes allowed). Please make sure your bike is in good working order. As we head into colder weather it is really important to make sure you are warm enough during the ride. Please wear golves and have plenty of warm layers on. You can always take layers off if you are too warm!! A water proof would also be handy as the weather can change quite quickly. Cycle helmets are advised but not compulsory for adults (all children under 16 must wear a helmet to attend this ride), so don't be put off if you don't have one. There are no cafes on this route, but we will stop for a break, so please bring a drink and snack. A toilet is available near the turn around point. Look forward to seeing you there! Nearest Train Station is Hadfield, for more information please visit the National Rail Enquiries website
