This will be an easy-going and relaxing tour of Glasgow's waterways: the Forth and Clyde canal, its spur into the city, River Kelvin and River Clyde.
We'll ride out north on roads, passing through TownHead to join the cycle path via the new Sighthill bridge. We'll then follow the towpath along the Forth and Clyde Canal Spur to the new Stockingfield Bridge, joining the Forth and Clyde Canal. At Maryhill, we'll leave the Canal to join and follow the Kelvin River, through woods and parks until reaching the River Clyde. We'll then follow the Clyde East, to return to Glasgow Green.

This is a great way to travel from the east end to the west end of the city and passes some of Glasgow’s famous landmarks such as the Glasgow Necropolis, Cathedral, Kelvin Hall and Riverside museum.

We will ride mostly on quiet cycle paths and canal/river towpaths. However, there are some small sections on road, but these are kept to a minimum.

We will cycle as a group and travel at the pace of the slowest rider. No-one will be left behind (We especially welcome newbies!).

You will need a bike in full working order. The city bike hire is also suitable. A helmet is recommended. Bring something to drink and some snacks for the breaks.
