Easy Going ride through Barnet Parks

This ride is suitable for anyone who can ride a bike but hasn’t ridden for a while or wants to build confidence in a group on quiet roads. So dust off your bike after the winter and have an easy-going ride through parks and back streets. We will go at a pace that means no one is ever left behind.
We will meet at the café in Oakhill Park where there is free parking and toilets. We cycle along quiet roads before picking up the Pymmes Brook walkway and cycle path, through the spring greenery. We can stay on this path until Palmers Green where we will enter Broomfield Park. See the spring cherry blossom !
Passing the tennis courts and out the other side we then cycle through the Fox Lane Low Traffic Neighbourhood with a small hill. Everyone can go at their own pace and we will wait at the top. We then enter Grovelands Park where we can stop for a cuppa overlooking the beautiful lake.
We then make our way on quiet roads to Oakwood Park which used to be part of the Enfield Chase Royal hunting ground. Let’s not forget to visit the ice well !
From there we will have a very short hill before a long descent into Oakhill Park and back to the café.
Please wear a helmet and dress for the weather - British summer time could mean anything. Bring water, snacks and money/card for the stop. Please check your bike the evening before to ensure that it is fully functioning, inflated tyres, gears shifting nicely and brakes are working.
