This is the perfect ride if you’re a recent convert to cycling or out of practice, being a short local ride along traffic free Rennys Lane, quiet rural roads and finally through the housing estate at Belmont. We’ll stop off at the award winning Daisy Rose cafe at Cheveley Park at the end

We’ll start from the lay-by on Rennys Lane just west of the A1 underpass where the burger van is often located.

We’ll start with a breeze along Rennys Lane to Sherburn. From here we pedal out along Cookshold Lane and on to Littletown, Pittington and Hallgarth along quiet roads. We navigate our way back along a short stretch of Rennys Lane but exit into the housing estate and find our way to Daisy Rose cafe. We can pop back to the start for anyone not wanting to go here.

We will be riding decent surfaced paths and roads so any bike will cope.

Because this is Durham, our ride isn’t entirely flat as but we have chosen this route as it is a little flatter than an average Durham ride.

In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Please make sure your bike is in working condition and bring a spare tube to fit your tyres. Expect to be out for about 2 hours. Please come suitably dressed.

As the weather can be unpredictable at this time of year we may alter the ride slightly if conditions are not great and we'll make any decision to cancel/amend by 8.30am on the morning and let you know via the conversation tab within the ride booking system.
