Easy Breezy along the Deerness

Start at Broompark Picnic Site DH7 7RJ
Join us for a leisurely breeze along the Deerness Valley Railway Path to Esh Winning and back. The trip will be suitable for beginners as it is off road and is as flat a ride as Durham gets. So, if you’re a beginner cyclist or returning after years away from a saddle this is the outing for you. You’ll be in good company while riding through Durham’s attractive countryside. The railway path is mainly a good surface so will be suitable for all bikes apart from very skinny road tyres. We’ll stop in Esh Winning for a cuppa, venue tbc.
Please don’t risk getting cold and come suitably dressed for the weather eg warm gloves, buff, extra socks/overshoes and lots of layers.
In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Make sure your bike is in working condition and bring a spare tube to fit your tyres.

For any last minute cancellations on the day please also add a note in the ride Conversation before cancelling so increasing the chance of your message being seen.
