This will be an easy ride of 10 – 11 miles, suitable for beginners or ladies who have recently returned to cycling after a break. Starting from Wellington Health and Fitness Club, we will cycle to Finchampstead via byways and quiet roads and then follow the traffic-free Greenway to Arborfield Green. After a ride around the former Arborfield Garrison area, we will cycle back to Finchampstead and stop for a coffee break at the FBC centre in Gorse Ride. We will then return to Crowthorne the same way that we came. To avoid unnecessary delays, please check the night before that your tyres are correctly inflated, brakes working, and chain oiled. Cycle helmets are compulsory. Please also bring a bottle of water, a spare inner tube, pump to fit your own tyres, and a bike lock if you have one. For the coffee stop, could you also please bring a face mask and contactless card for drink payment. With COVID-19 in mind, please take responsibility for ensuring that you only attend if you feel well. We will maintain social distancing during the ride, and during any stops.

Any type of bike would be suitable for this ride, which will be on a mixture of quiet roads and some byways, with reasonable surfaces for cycling.

Coffee stop at the FBC centre after 7 miles (with time for a chat.)

We never leave anyone behind
