*** Be aware there is a professional cycle race taking place in and around Melton on 21st April, as a consequence I have had to reverse the route, as they had the 'audacity' to use exactly the same route back as I had planned, and are due in Melton around 3pm, which is likely to be the approximate time of our return. Dependant on the time we get back to Melton there may be some delay getting back through the expected 'thousands' of spectators and road closures to the car park*** Starting in Melton Mowbray we cycle east through the edge of the Wolds (ups and downs) then a long section through the flat fens of Lincolnshire, before returning to Melton, via a few more ups and downs. No known food stops so come equipped for a long day in the saddle - food and drink essential These rides are now 'rides with an aim', to increase both our speed and distance and practice riding in a group. We are currently averaging 14mph we will be looking to move up to 15-16 and reducing the overall time, including stopped time. Therefore if you feel this is too fast for you please think long and hard about attending as we will not be stopping, other than at planned eat/drink stops' Please ensure you have printed out the map of the route before you come on the ride
