This is a social ride for women – whether new or wanting to return to off-road cycling or just after a gentle ride in the woods with other women. The fire roads offer a great path around the forest without worrying about cars. They have a compact, gravelly surface that’s easy to ride and they are wide enough – so no need to worry about anything! This is gentle ride and we will regularly pause for a drink, a chat and to admire nature (and to catch our breath!)

The ride will be on traffic free, gravel fire trails.

There are couple of steady climbs but we will take them slowly and have regular stops to catch our breath and make sure we all stay together. There are no cafes stops on the ride but we will only be out a couple of hours and returning to Beechenhurst at the end to enjoy refreshments there.

Bring your own bike. This ride is suitable for bikes with off-road tyres (wide and knobbly) and please make sure your bike is in good condition. Helmets are mandatory and gloves would be recommended. Dress suitably for the weather remembering that winter mornings can be a bit chilly, especially in the shade of the trees. And whatever the forecast, bring a waterproof coat just in case, as the weather can be unpredictable in this area.

We never leave anyone behind
