East MK circuit (short)

This is a 5 mile, easy ride via the redways and recreational paths on the east of Milton Keynes. The majority of the ride is flat, with just a few modest inclines over bridges etc. The ride starts from the carpark in Woolstone following recreational paths into the Ouzel Country Park. we pick up the redway, crossing the River Ouzel and heading across Oakgrove into Middleton and on to Milton Keynes Village. We pass Milton Keynes Village Parish Church and head towards Broughton via the bridge over the V11. We pass through the local shopping area and approach the new suspension bridge. Here we take the leisure route to our left which runs parallel with the River Ouzel for a quarter of a mile. We take the path through a copse and head west on the redway parallel with the H6. After a few hundred yards we take the underpass onto the north side of the H6 and head for Willen Lake. We follow the leisure route around the east side of both south and north lake, making our way back past the Pagoda and the Japanese Temple. We then head towards Newlands and follow the redway parallel with the V10. Its then through the underpass heading for the Woolstone Community Centre and Church, then via the leisure route back to the car park. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
