Starting point

Durham
DH1 5TP

Recyke y’Bike is an awesome cycling charity (https://recyke.bike/) who sell refurbished bikes and essential accessories. The proceeds from that then helps provide employment, volunteering opportunities, encouragement, and skills for new cyclists. They also give free bikes to refugees and other people without money who are referred to them.

Recyke y’Bike have had a bike shop in Durham City for the past 8 years, unfortunately due to circumstances beyond their control the shop is having to move. But don’t worry, it’s only moving 5.2 miles down the road to Chester le Street ( Blackburn House, Ropery Ln, Chester-le-Street DH3 3NN).

So how do you get there??

Easy, just come and join Guided Rides – Durham this Saturday for a ride from Durham City to Chester le Street and then get an exclusive tour of the new Recyke y’ Bike shop.

Starting in Durham Country Hall Car Park our ride to the new Recyke y’Bike shop in Chester le Street will see us take the cycling lane along Framwellgate Moor Front Street, join the shared cycle path along the A167 and then we will arrive at the shop in no time at all for an exclusive tour of the premises. Once our tour is finished we will then go for refreshments (Location for refreshments will be confirmed closer to the date). Once refreshed our return journey will be the same route back.

On this route we will be cycling over a variety of different terrains including quiet roads, cycle paths, shared paths, Therefore, this ride is only suitable for Hybrids or Mountain bikes.
