Saturday 2 January 2015 1.30pm 13 miles Durham Breeze into the New Year A Pittington Round Pedal with us into a New Year of cycling. Starting from Clayport Library in Millennium Place DH1 1WA we’ll pedal our way along Durham's riverbanks, climbing to Dragonville from where we'll escape the city via Renny's Lane to Sherburn. From here we'll head past Littletown and Pittington before heading back to Durham. The route is varied and interesting. Averagely hilly for Durham standards and a mix of on and off road. The road sections are mainly quiet and the off road sections good quality apart from one rough short section. It's a lovwly ride from the city into the heart of the countryside. The route is best for hybrid bikes. It is recommended only for Children over 10 years as there are some road sections needing particular care. Under 16s must wear a helmet. Please come prepared for winter weather with plenty of clothes including gloves and bring a spare inner tube for your tyres. Also make sure you’ve got front and back lights in case light conditions are poor. As the weather is unpredictable at this time of year we may alter the ride slightly if conditions are not great. If it's really bad we'll make any decision to cancel by 10am on the morning and let you know. Hope you can join us for a fun and friendly ride. If you want any more information email us at [email protected]. Audrey and Jacki
