Dunstable to Redbourn Circular

This ride takes us through beautiful quiet lanes to Redbourn and Flamstead.  We start at Pedalworks Bike shop in Dunstable and ride over Dunstable Downs towards Kensworth and Studham Common where you always hear Skylarks.  Our route continues on to Gaddesden Row before a lovely long decent into Redbourn, ourhalf way point.  It's worth pausing here at The Hub - where we can get a bike and body boost (a tea room that also repairs and maintains bicycles so bring some pennies). After refreshments we cycle on to the little village of Flamstead before reaching Markyate. From here we turn towards Kensworth, a long but steady incline before cycling home from Whipsnade across Dunstable Downs to the Travel Hub. This is a 25 mile ride and is suitable for riders who have some experience. Newcomers are always welcome, no one is left behind.  As a guide you should be able to ride at 10mph avg. There are hills that will leave you puffing but not suffering! The route is all road or tarmac paths suitable for all types of bicycles.  It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack.  Dress appropriately for the weather and please bring a puncture repair kit. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
