Starting point

LU6 1SL

Pedal Works Bike Shop, West Street, Dunstable

This ride takes us down NCN route 6 to Stanbridge and the quiet lanes to Heath and Reach.  Here we cycle to the tea hut at Stockgrove Country Park for brief refreshments before heading towards Little Brickhill. From here we turn towards Bragenham and take the lane towards Leighton Buzzard - this lane can be very gritty with some potholes but we'll make our way carefully. As we reach Leighton Buzzard there's an opportunity for more tea if you choose before we head back to Stanbridge and on home to Dunstable. This is a 22 mile ride with some short steep hills.  We always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.  The route is all road or cycle paths.  It is suitable for all types of bicycles although you may find it slippery on the cycle path if the weather is wet and you are on a road bike with little or no tread. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack and some money for tea stops. Dress appropriately for the weather and please bring a puncture repair kit. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
