About the route
Our next ride takes place on Saturday 2nd November and is a 22 mile circular route from Dunstable via Luton Hoo, Markyate & Kensorth. Starting from Pedalworks Bike Shop, West Street, Dunstable, LU6 1SL we head out on National Route 6 all the way to Luton. This section of the route is all traffic free on tarmac paths and approximately 8 miles. If that's a long enough ride for you there is the option to leave the led ride here and cycle back to Dunstable along the new cycleway.
Our ride continues on the cycle path towards East Hide before turning right onto the road to circumvent Luton Hoo Estate and head towards Markyate. Here we stop for a well earned cup of tea. The last part of our ride takes us towards Kensworth with a short hill to Dunstable and home.
This ride is aimed at ladies who have ridden a similar distance before but no one is left behind and we ride at the pace of the slowest rider, usually achieving an average of 10mph. It's suitable for all types of bicycle.
Please ensure your bicycle is in good working order, particularly the gears, as this will help you on any hills. It's a good idea to bring a puncture repair kit and pump, a bottle of water and some small snacks. If you wish to have tea don't forget your purse. We recommend you wear a helmet.
