Driffield Leisure Centre Bridlington Road Driffield East Riding of Yorkshire

Autumn is defintely now upon us so be prepared to wrap up warm for this one as we will be heading up into the wolds for a slightly more challenging ride for those ladies who have had a few steady rides with us and are now looking for something a little more adventurous. Leaving the Leisure Centre we will head up towards Nafferton via Nafferton Slack then skirt round to the roundabout on the main A164 where we cross over and head up the Wold Road.  There is a fairly steady climb up here, but followed by a lovely descent to Pockthorpe before a further gradual ascent towards the village of Kilham.  We'll pass through the village and rejoin the wold road heading further up to the top of the wolds before a nice long descent into Burton Agnes where a lovely coffee awaits us in the cafe at Burton Agnes Hall, so make sure you remember your pennies. Feeling refreshed we then head back along flat and open roads through the villages of Harpham, Lowthorpe and Nafferton from where we will once again tackle Nafferton Slack before returning to the Leisure Centre. It’s a good idea to bring some water, snacks to keep you going and waterproof clothing if rain is forecast.  Also remember that visibility is extremely important so try not to wear anything too dark. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry, you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. All you need is a roadworthy bike, sensible clothing and a bit of enthusiasm. It helps to have a spare inner tube of the correct size - just in case. Don’t forget…. Breeze are on a mission to spread the word about their rides, and need your help. If you introduce one friend who goes on to take part in a Breeze ride, you’ll receive a Breeze water bottle, introduce a second friend, you’ll be the proud owner of one of their swish Breeze Buffs, and introduce a third friend and Breeze will send you £15 of Love2Shop vouchers. Read the article on the homepage for more information. Look forward to seeing you there!
