Dover

Starting in the historic town of Dover, this great route follows National Cycle Network 2 to the Battle of Britain memorial at Capel Le Ferne. The route soon leaves behind Dover town centre which was on the frontline during World War 2 and passes through the beautiful Kent North Downs.  The skies overhead would have been the frontline for Spitfires and Hurricanes in the summer of 1940 at the height of the Battle of Britain.  The route stops at Capel Le Ferne on top of the world famous White Cliffs to the newly created museum to 'The Few' as Churchill titled them who fought bravely over the skies in 1940.  This really is a heritage route to savour and make you think at the same time.
