This is a lovely road route from South Sheffield out to the edge of the Peak District. The loop involves some climbing, but it's all very doable and there are some beautiful views with a chance of seeing some deer at the top, so it's well worth the effort!
We begin with a long, steady climb of (approx. 6 miles with 900 feet of climbing) from Dore Station, through Totley and up to Owler Bar, before joining Owler Bar Road and riding across the moors at Longshaw. After the Wooden Pole, we cut across Stony Ridge Road before starting a gorgeous descent back to our starting point via Whirlow.
Please note there are no cafe or toilet stop on this ride or at the start point. You should bring your own drink and a snack if needed.
Please note – these roads often have fast moving traffic and cars will overtake us quickly. Please ensure you are comfortable riding on fast roads before signing up.
