The Portland Centre

This route starts along the River passing Nottingham Forest Football Ground, the ride continues up to Holme Pierre Point along the river. Before passing through several small villages in South Nottingham including Radcliffe, Cropwell Butler, Tythby and Colstan Basset (where you will see the famous cheese factory). Other sights include Lanagr Hall and Colstan Bassett Hall. The ride then heads into Cotgrave before heading through the village of Clipson and finally returning through Tollerton and past the Nottingham Airport. The ride then re joins the river route taken out to return to Portland Leisure Centre. You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.
