Starting initially next to the Dragonfly Cafe within Dinton Pastures, our ride will take us through Charvil and Sonning, then pushing gradually uphill towards Binfield Heath. Using quieter lanes, we explore a loop around Sonning Common area, before enjoying a lovely downhill back to Playhatch, then stop at Caversham Wharf at their riverfront Cafe after 17 miles. An easy few miles back to Dinton via Woodley. An introduction to some gentle hills, but we will go at the pace of the slowest rider (which often turns out to be me!), so don't let that put you off. Anne will start/end at Smiths Walk next to Morrisons at Woosehill, extending the ride to 27 miles, so if anyone prefers to meet me there, pls message me using the Lets Ride website. Please arrive at Dinton at 9.20 for a 09.30 start or Woosehill at 9am.
Quite lanes with some main roads where necessary to connect.
To avoid unnecessary delays, please check the night before, that your tyres are correctly inflated, brakes working, and chain oiled. Cycle helmets are compulsory. Please also bring a bottle of water, a spare inner tube, pump to fit your own tyres, and a bike lock if you have one. Life now also includes a face mask and contactless card for the tea stop. We aim to ride around 10mph, so not ideal for absolute beginners, but we aim to build confidence with your cycling ability whilst guiding you through some quieter lanes around the area, using busier roads only where necessary. We always welcome new faces, and never leave anyone behind. With COVID-19 in mind, please take responsibility for ensuring that you only attend if you feel well. We will maintain social distancing during the ride, and at our teastop.
