Derby Parks and Green Spaces

This is an anti-clockwise circular route starting East out of the City and heading North,  then West.  We’ll take in the many parks and green spaces (nine in total) in this part of Derby.  The route covers both the University Campus and Markeaton Park. At each Park there is the option to go and explore a little bit further.  The route passes numerous historical features including the Silk Mill now housing the Industrial Museum as well as Darley Mill a part of the Derwent Heritage site.  Also seek out the renowned collection of hydrangea at Darley Park. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  It’s a good idea to bring some water, snack to keep you going and money for if we stop at a cafe. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. Look forward to seeing you there!
