Deerplay Anti-Clockwise

** please note clocks go BACK today!!! ** Moderate road rides around Rossendale, 13-17 miles, with 1100 feet+ of climbing. Come and have a go in a supportive atmosphere! All rides leave Marl Pits Leisure Centre, Rawtenstall, BB4 7SN, at 10am on Sunday. Please text ride leader if you are running late. These rides are HILLY and for BEGINNERS. We will strictly go at the pace of the slowest rider and we will always wait at the top of hills. If you are likely to feel frustrated at the slower pace, do consider the local road clubs who also run Sunday rides. Please do bring a spare inner tube that fits your bike, drink and food. Check the weather forecast as the roads are remote. When we return to Rawtenstall we can visit a café together so bring a bike lock and money if you'd like to join us. All rides: 5th October - Crown Point Anti-clockwise (13 miles) 12th October - BREEZE CHALLENGE RIDE IN PRESTON 19th October - Crown Point Anti-clockwise (13 miles) 26th October - Deerplay Anti-clockwise (13 miles) 9th November - Ramsbottom Clockwise (17 miles) 16th November - Crown Point Clockwise (13 miles) 23rd November - Deerplay Clockwise (13 miles) 30th November - Ramsbottom Clockwise (17 miles) Please book on as numbers are limited. Deerplay Anti-clockwise A 12.5 mile route that leaves Rawtenstall along Newchurch Road and Turnpike, and into Waterfoot and Bacup, then left up through Weir and over Deerplay. Then left again to drop back down through Water along Burnley Road East, Booth Road, and Newchurch Road. There is 1100 feet of climb but we will go at a steady pace and no one will be left behind. This could take us two hours.
