Denaby Ings Nature Reserve car park

Meeting at 10.15am at Denaby Ings Nature Reserve with a view to setting off at 10.30am, this route is almost entirely flat so will be well suited to all ability of riders. The ride follows the route of the trans pennine trail connecting the nature reserve with another reserve, RSPB Old Moor, skirting around Manvers Lake along the way. Our cafe stop is at RSPB Old Moor where they have a very nice cafe, as well as a great area to sit outside to eat (weather permitting). There's also ample bike racks available (usually) so you can lock up your trusty steed. Unfortunately this is not a circular route so we will be returning back along the same route (with a slight variation) to arrive back at Denaby Ings where, for anyone that is up for it, we can make a small diversion to visit Pastures Lodge to conclude our ride with a nice pint. At this time of year its essential that you wear hi-viz clothing in the daytime and you may even need to use your lights, so do make sure you are fully prepared in this respect. We do have FREE hi-viz jackets to give away to anyone who does not have one, and similarly hi-viz rucksack covers (which can also double up as pannier covers too). As usual we ask that you remember to wear your helmet (no helmet = no ride) and clothing that is appropriate to the weather conditions. Please ensure that your your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre ride checks (tires pumped up, nothing coming loose etc etc). You should also ensure that you are carrying a hand pump, tools (including tyre levers), at least one spare inner tube for your bicycle (though we recommend you carry two as a minimum), money and a 'phone. DISCLAIMER:- This is a purely social group of like minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure. We do not profess to be trained ride leaders but do have experience of doing so. You are free to choose to ride with us but in doing so please note that you do so in acceptance that this is entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or injury suffered as a result of your participation.
