The Cenotaph on Bennetthorpe, Doncaster - next to Elmfield Park and across from Cycle Supreme cycle shop. Road side parking available on Roman Road next to the Cenotaph.

So it's our first attempt at getting you to part with your comfy mattress and warm duvet for a quick ride out for your breakfast. Meeting at 6.55am at the Cenotaph on Bennetthorpe with a view to setting off at 7.00am we're heading, in an indirect route of course, to Sandall Park cafe to partake in their lovely breakfast fayre (and very reasonably priced it is too). We should land at the cafe at around 7.45am as it's only about 7.5 miles into the ride. The plan is to spend no more than 45 mins here and then head out on the remaining 11.5 miles of our jaunt. Wherever possible the route goes off road (either on cycle track or unsurfaced track) but there are stretches that unavoidably travel on busier roads in the second part of the ride. Dont be put off by this though, riding as a group is the safest way to travel on these busy roads. The pace of the ride will be slightly faster than the usual Woo Woo pace to enable us to get back to the start promptly, so our average overall will be 10mph (rather than the 8-9mph we normally do). This means we'll be riding at 12+ miles per hour in places. Here's the route which you can view on Google Maps:- https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zMeb8P79P2t8.kCffkgqwSafE&usp=sharing ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT INFO FOR PARTICIPANTS! Make sure you wear your helmet (this is compulsory, if you have no helmet you wont be able to ride with us) and appropriate clothing for the weather (if you have any bright or hi-viz then wear that). As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre ride checks; you should also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump, and tools to enable you to change a tube if necessary. Dont forget too to bring money for refreshments and a mobile 'phone. DISCLAIMER:- This is a purely social group of like minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure.
