Dam, what a ride! IWD #make it happen !

We start our ride at Pennington Park. After a quick bike check we'll head off into Pennington Flash where we'll join the Leeds to Liverpool Canal. We'll make our way down the canal towpath into Astley. Once there we'll take the road down to the beautiful surroundings of the old hospital site and visit the cafe at Dam House where you can learn a little about the history of Astley, and of course get a drink and one of their fabulous cakes if you like !  We'll then head back to Pennington Flash and return to the park.  This is a nice gentle ride of approx 14 miles and is mainly flat. Please remember to bring some money for refreshments and a lock to secure your bike. There will be plenty of rest stops and its advisable to bring along a drink and a spare inner tube just in case (if you don’t have one don’t let this stop you from taking part).  Also please wear a helmet and make sure you have suitable clothing.
