This is a more challenging hilly ride, in preparation for Long and Long plus ‘Ride for Marianne’
Setting off from Rugby club, up the Mile, Meltonby towards Bishop Wilton, a sharp right up the steep hill to Givendale, left at Givendale towards Thixendale.
Left and steady up to A166, safely across. Long road along the top and turning right after a photo stop with the Vale of York view.
Down through the beautiful Wolds to Thixendale village. Up the steep hill past Robert Fullers farm to rejoin the main road.
Back safely over the A166 taking the main road back towards Pocklington with an opportunity to Stop at Penny’s Cakes and bakes for a treat.

A hilly training ride for more confident riders

Mainly country ones. One short stretch of A road

Drink and photo stops and hopefully Penny’s Cakes and bakes

Spare inner tube x 2. Plenty of water and a snack. Helmet essential. Pump:

We never leave anyone behind
