Dale Abbey Ride Sat 11th May 2013 START : Eastwood Community Sports Centre. Mansfield Road. NG16 3EB. Turn (R) out of Centre onto A608 Mansfield Rd, proceed up to traffic lights straight on down Church Street (caution long decent thro’ residential area). Cross over the A610 follow minor quiet road to MFN (1.5m). Climb up to Hassock Ln South (R) on to A6007 with caution. (L) at Lodge house passed the Field down towards Coppice lake, Osborne Pond, pass Derby Lodge continue along Shipley Lane passing Mapperley Reservoir, up into the village of Mapperley(5.2m). Turn (R)Park Hall Lane to junction with A609 continue straight over West Hallam down Cat and Fiddle lane up (climb)to the Cat and Fiddle Wind MillJ cross over the A6096(R then L) follow a leafy lane down into Dale Abbey. Climb up the oddly named Woodpecker lane, Potato Pit Lane and No Mans Lane turn (L) towards Stanton by Dale (If The School Room Tea Rooms is open we will stop thereJ).Return via Erewash Valley Golf Club, Stapleford, Trowell, Cossall, Awsworth, Gilt Brook to Eastwood. 25m with lots of short hills and undulations! FINISH at Eastwood Community Sports Centre with tea and coffee at Sports Centre Cafe at the finish, plus if anyone needs any tips/advice. Please bring a waterproof, a drink, spare inner tube, extra clothing and some money for a drink.
