Emma Cons Gardens, the small piazza on the corner of Waterloo Road and The Cut (opposite The Old Vic)
Chiswick House is a Palladian villa in Burlington Lane, Chiswick, west London. Arguably the finest remaining example of Neo-Palladian architecture in London, the house was designed by Lord Burlington and completed in 1729. The gardens, which occupy 65 acres, were mainly created by William Kent and are one of the earliest examples of the English landscape garden. This is a ride to visit this house and gardens.
We meet at Emma Cons Gardens and start by cycling to Clapham Junction using a path alongside the railway and we then continue through Putney and Barnes and along the Thames Path to Chiswick Bridge. We then cross the Thames and cycle to Chiswick House, where we will stop for an hour for a refreshment break at the Chiswick House Cafe and will take a look at the grounds and conservatory. We then return along the north bank of the Thames, through Furnival Gardens and past Hammersmith to Putney Bridge, where we cross back over the Thames. The ride finishes at Clapham Junction.
