The Central London Outdoor Group (CLOG) (founded 1937) has one or two easy cycle rides in the countryside nearly every week between March and October ranging from 20 to 35 miles. These are easily accessible by public transport from London and are on quiet roads or cycle paths. By bike we explore rivers, canals, forts, castles, coast, marshes, gardens, woods, ruins, churches, mansions, cycle-ferries, churchyards, villages, lost railways....
Non members can come up to 3 cycle rides or other events to try us out before joining. Photos from past cycle rides and walks. We also do around 20 trips away(weekend or longer) in the UK and abroad every year.
Cycling trip in Holland 6th to 12th September
The route (mainly LF4) includes various different regions and landscapes varying from coastal sand dunes, historic cities, national parks, castles and manor houses. This trip is very inexpensive as we can take our own bikes over on the ferry from Harwich and can access inexpensive accommodation in Holland via Friends of Bicycles (return travel to Holland plus accommodation and breakfasts should work out at around £200).
This a great opportunity to experience cycle touring in a country with the best cycling facilities in the world plus gentle terrain, beautiful historic cities and varied landscape.
Itinerary
Weds 6th September evening or afternoon. Train to Harwich. Board boat in the evening. Weds night overnight in comfy en-suite cabins
