Edgbaston Reservoir

Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Our Easygoing rides are great for building confidence for all abilities and ages along relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. They’re up to six miles long, with a gentle pace of around six miles an hour. In collaboration with the ‘Be active’ scheme and Birmingham City Council, we’re running a special Sky Ride Local ride from Edgbaston Reservoir. Please copy and paste the following link for more details of additional activities occurring on the day - http://beactivebirmingham.co.uk/archives/1687. This 2.8 mile ride follows the old cart track from the visitor centre east into the valley. This old hedged lane is around 500 years old, together with hay meadows which, in summer, are full of buttercups. Crossing the green bridge we then follow the stream. This is a great ride for spotting woodland birds such as woodpeckers and tree creepers.
