Cirencester or Corinium - The Capital of the Cotswolds.
It was an important Roman town and has a wonderful Wool Church, St John the Baptist. We have the option to pop in.

The Route starts in Northleach- please meet outside the Post Office in the Market Square (in the sun). There are toilets at the bottom of the market square.

Route out- we leave Northleach by cycling past the primary school (up hill) but then have a lovely descent to Coln St Denis and then head to Coln St Rogers. There is a climb up to the Fosse which we cross (a dog leg crossing so we are on the Fosse for a very short bit) at Fosse Cross. We pass the tip. Then we cycle through Calmsden and onto the Whiteway (Salt Way) which takes us directly to Cirencester= a lovely descent. We will enter through the Abbey grounds.

I found a cafe, called Heather's, tucked away in a court yard behind Black Jack Street- see reviews below.

The route back is retracing our steps initially along the Whiteway then crossing the Fosse (straight over) to cycle besides Barnsley Park. Then onto Winson. As we climb out of Winson look out for Potlickers Lane. Then it is Calcot and Northleach.

This ride goes through many pretty Cotswold Villages.

We will cycle on mostly quiet roads, although we cross we few busier roads.

Helmets are compulsory. Please charge your lights and bring a spare inner tube.
