The Central London Outdoor Group (CLOG) (founded 1937) has one or two easy cycle rides in the countryside nearly every week between March and October ranging from 20 to 35 miles. These are easily accessible by public transport from London and are on quiet roads or cycle paths.
By bike we explore rivers, canals, forts, castles, coast, marshes, gardens, woods, ruins, churches, mansions, cycle-ferries, churchyards, villages, lost railways....
Non members can come up to 3 cycle rides or other events to try us out before joining. Photos from past cycle rides and walks:

Cycle ride: Essex woods, wide skies, villages and rivers: Marks Tey to Hatfield Peverell Aug 5, 2017
We cycle out of Marks Tey through Great Tey to Marks Hall Aboretum where we can stop for morning coffee and cakes. Then back on our bikes to Sisted, Cressing, White or Black Notely. We will stop for lunch at a pub in either Sisted or one of the Notelys.
After lunch we cycle through the beatiful village of Terling with an option of afternoon tea at the Owls Tea Room (if we get there before it closes).
Then Mowden and Hatfield Peverell where the ride finishes.
