A mixed adventure from Cardiff to Bridgend and back. Mostly following NCN (and 'meant to be NCN') routes, we'll head out from Cardiff to Barry, then through the Vale to skirt Bridgend before heading back via Pontyclun, the lovely Church Village community route, and the Taff Trail.

All tarmac, mostly either NCN shared use, or quiet lanes. No gravel on this route unless you want some, right at the end, through the wetlands, but easily avoidable!

Lunch stop probably at Cherry Laurel, Kingsway, Bridgend Industrial Estate, Bridgend CF31 3RY but there are several options and I'm as yet a bit undecided. We will stop at least once, somewhere around the middle of the ride.

Bring tools to repair minor mechanicals. Make sure to bring snacks and water to avoid hydration issues. As with all valley's NCN routes I recommend tyres with some level of puncture protection due to the chance of glass and thorns
