CF14 6SA

This is a hilly route and there are some steep sections
Starting from the Deri Inn, our first test is Rhiwbina Hill (steep in sections with a couple of places where it flattens back out). We'll regroup at the top before carefully descending (covering our brakes at all times (Clive Rogers please note)) Caerphilly Mountain down to the castle. Our next test will be Van Road, as we head back out into the country lanes, past Rudry and down into Draethen. Our return route has a few smaller lumps and bumps and takes us through Lower Michaelstone and Michaelstone-y-fedw back towards to St Mellons, but turns back through the St Edeyrn's Village estate, and straight on to Lisvane, then following the main roads back to Rhiwbina to the Deri Inn.

This is a hilly ride 20.7 miles with 1980ft of elevation gain and a couple of steep descents too. We will be using a mixture of city roads and country lanes. Please make sure your bike is in good working order before the ride.
