Starting from - We will meet at the cafe in Hove Park (tucked behind the tennis courts and next to the public toilets). The cafe will be open before we start, so you can arrive early for a drink and a natter with the other riders if you don't want to be rushing beforehand. If driving, there is parking opposite Hove Park in the retail park (TKMaxx and ToysRUs) or on the residential streets around Hove Park. If you can't find the cafe in Hove Park, call the ride leader Alison on 07967 094967, BN3 7BF

Beginners ride, or one for those that fancy a social pootle or haven't got a lot of time available. Blow away the cobwebs with this easy and gentle ride along Hove seafront. Using the Sustrans National Route 2, we'll use mainly seafront cycle paths to get from Hove Park to Carat's cafe in Southwick (and then back again after a cuppa, cake, and chat!). The route is all flat, but the wind can make cycling in one direction a bit harder than the other; expect coming back from the cafe to be a lot faster than getting there, as we're usually cycling into a headwind when heading west. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack (though we will be stopping at Carat's cafe for cake and a drink!). Dress appropriately for the weather. Also bring spare inner tube for your bike as changing the tube is easier than fixing a puncture by the side of the road. Remember money for the cafe too! We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. Please check your bike before heading out: Are the tyres fully inflated? Do both brakes work? Is the chain clean and oiled? If you have any questions about the ride don't hesitate to get in touch with the ride leader Alison on 07967 094967 or [email protected]
