Starting point

London
CR0 1GY

A trip to Horniman Gardens and museum. This ride avoids some stereotyped ways to and from South Norwood Country Park by visiting other parks on the way, to give you a change. It then goes through Crystal Palace Park, Belair Park and Dulwich Park before arriving at Horniman Gardens. We will lunch alfresco at the Gardens cafe. Indoors if it is wet. We will stay 90 minutes to give time for walking around the gardens or the museum. The overground trains from Forest Hill to West Croydon will be running so you don’t need to keep any schedule once there.

The second half of the ride takes us to Beckenham Place Park for a ride around its woodland trail, then back to Croydon through the Country Park and Brickfields Meadow.

There is a climb up the length of Crystal Palace Park but we will walk our bikes inside Horniman Gardens, which is on a hill.

Start at Queens Gardens CR0 1GY at 10am. Lunch at 12, start back at 1:30pm, end ride at Queens Gardens at 3:30pm.

Please bring a spare inner tube.
