Croydon to Elephant to Islington to Bloomsbury and Blackfriars

Bank holiday Monday 4th May. A ride from Croydon north to the City. It takes in Crystal Palace Park, Dulwich Park, Brockwell Park, and Kennington Park before lunch in Mercato Metropolitano large food court in Elephant. After lunch we go on the cycleway to cross Southwark Bridge then to St Pauls and a general nose around Holborn, Clarkenwell, Haggerston with another cafe stop, then Islington, St Pancras, Bloomsbury and Covent Garden to finish at Blackfriars Station. Quite a variety of London riding.

We will start in Queens Gardens CR0 1GY at 10am and head for Crystal Palace via Park Hill Park and the Railway Park.

We should reach Mercato Metropolitano not long after it opens at midday to bag some tables. Around 1:30 we can head off again.

The ride is 28.5 miles and has a lunch stop and an additional cafe stop. We will perhaps reach Blackfriars by 4:30pm. Both refreshment stops have indoor or covered and outdoor seating. We will need to park outside Mercato Metropolitano so bring good locks. You will be fine on a road bike.
