Starting point

London
CR0 1GY

A 16 mile local loop with a picnic style lunch in Crystal Palace Park. We’ll take a seldom used way via Shirley Oaks to South Norwood Country Park, then go the familiar route to the start of Waterlink Way. Turning off to the west takes us through Mayow Park and Sydenham to Penge and Crystal Palace Park. The Sunday market is where we can choose our food and sit on the grass to eat. That is near the cafe. Toilets handy too. We’ll ride beside South Norwood Lake and Selhurst Park stadium on the way back to Queens Gardens.

Road bikes can handle this ride, though not with the narrowest tyres. There will be about 2 hours of cycling and maybe 90 minutes off the bike, so back before 2pm. Bring water and a spare inner tube.

Meet at Queens Gardens CR0 1GY for a 10am start.
