Croydon, Mitcham Common, Clapham Common, Battersea Park, Hyde Park, St Paul's, Wapping

Bank holiday Monday 25th May. We’ll ride from Croydon through Mitcham Common (via the cemetery) and Furzedown to swoop down on Tooting Common and continue through Clapham Common and back streets to Battersea Park. We will lunch at the dog and cat home’s really excellent cafe, Tealbys. After lunch it’s through Battersea Park, Chelsea and South Kensington for a tourists dream tour. Exhibition Road. Hyde Park Serpentine, Constitution Hill and The Mall (so, Buck House obvs). Horseguards between two mounted soldiers, Victoria Embankment and St Pauls Cathedral Churchyard. The blitz-bombed ruin of St Dunstans in the East – a tranquil spot where we will sit awhile – the Tower of London and St Catherine’s Dock and Wapping to end at Shadwell Station on the overground to West Croydon.

Start at Queens Gardens CR0 1GY at 10am. The ride is 22.5 miles. We will finish at Shadwell by 3:30. There’s no particular climb to give difficulty and road bikes can do the route.
