Cows in the road

Out of Great Bowden, we'll cycle past the prison(!) and Foxton locks. We then turn left and take a series of little lanes to Mowsely and Laughton before enjoying the views from one of the loveliest roads in the county. We can then freewheel through Gumley and pedal up the other side before retracing out route back to Bowden.

A gentle ride out to one of the loveliest views in Leicestershire (in my opinion!) where we are quite likely to share the road with cows and sheep

We ride on quiet country lanes with little traffic.

Well stop along with way as often as we need to for a breather and to take a drink. We usually enjoy a drink together at The Red Lion once we're back in Bowden

You must wear a helmet on this ride. It's also a good idea to bring a bottle of water, some money and a raincoat and spare inner tube just in case!

First timers are particularly welcome on this ride. We cycle at a gentle pace, chatting as we go and we never leave anyone behind. All bikes and abilities are very welcome.
