A route that takes us out towards Widnes and Halebank via the Liverpool Loop Line to cross the River Mersey via the Silver Jubilee Bridge at West Bank and over to Runcorn. We then access the Bridgewater Canal and head towards Pheonix Park and the Norton Priory Museums and Gardens and Brooke Cafe at Windmill Hill Runcorn.

This ride is suitable for hybrid bikes (fitted with road and off-road tyres), mountain bikes and road bikes (with caution) and is mostly on hard surface roads, cycle paths, woodland and park paths and canal paths.

There will be cafe stop at The Brooke Cafe located adjacent to Norton Priory Museum and Gardens so remember to bring along some money for a coffee and cake or anything else that takes your fancy.

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required).

We are a very sociable group and it is essential that everybody enjoys the ride so it will be at a reasonable pace (average 9-11mph) but will be determined by the overall pace of the group. There are plenty of photo opportunities en-route ( it wouldn’t be a ‘CYCLE: St Helens’ group ride without a photo or two!). Always remember, we will never leave anyone behind!
